The elusive Rand actuator
for "Galloping Ghost".
This is a single channel three function system.
The single tone was pulsed at a frequency of about 1 to 10 Hz and
a nominal 50% pulse - pause ratio.
The white gear moves back and forth in this rythm. The red top
triangle is rudder.
It moves more to a side when the pulse - pause ratio changes
according to the stick position.
Lowering the frequency from the normal 3 Hz the red
"kite" moves more to the right.
This means up, increasing the frequency means down.
When a constant on or off was transmitted the big white gear
moves several
full rotations which actuated the throttle lever at the left.
Weight about 40 grams, extremely light in those days.
